FAQ
Questions, answered honestly.
Kinvalis is in development, so some answers are still open. Where something isn’t decided yet, we say so, and we’ll update these answers as real decisions are made.
Common questions
What we can say today.
Short answers, kept within what has actually been decided.
What is Kinvalis?
Kinvalis is a Germany-based venture in development. We’re exploring thoughtful, modular indoor monitoring for everyday needs: the people, pets, plants and homes that matter to you.
The idea is to turn everyday signals into calm, meaningful updates, so you can stay informed without constantly checking an app.
Can I buy a Kinvalis system today?
Not yet. Kinvalis is at an early stage: we’re shaping ideas, learning about real everyday needs and working toward a first useful experience. Nothing is available yet.
You can’t buy or pre-order anything, and prices and a launch date haven’t been set. When that changes, we’ll say so clearly here.
Does it require a monthly subscription?
Our aim is that the essential, everyday functions keep working without a mandatory monthly fee. What you buy should stay yours to own.
Some optional services, such as a backup or more advanced analysis, may cost something to run. If they do, we intend to explain what they include and what they cost before anyone chooses them. Pricing isn’t decided yet.
Where is my data stored?
Our intended design keeps your home’s routine activity history on a hub in your home, rather than collecting it continuously on Kinvalis servers. Optional features, such as a backup, would be your choice to switch on.
These details aren’t decided yet. Before any product is offered, we intend to publish clear information about what stays local and what may leave your home.
Can I add more devices later?
That’s the idea. Kinvalis is being designed to be modular: you’d start with what’s useful to you and add compatible devices when you have a real need.
Which devices will be supported isn’t confirmed yet. We’ll publish that once it is.
Do you use cameras?
Our camera policy isn’t decided yet. Whether cameras are supported, left out, or offered only as an option is still an open question, and we won’t claim either way until it’s settled.
Whatever we decide, we’ll explain it here, along with our reasons.
Does Kinvalis use AI?
We’re exploring useful ways to analyse everyday signals, so an update can say something meaningful instead of listing events.
Some analysis may happen on the hub in your home. For more complex features we’re considering optional external services, which would need your separate permission and clear information about how data is handled. The exact approach isn’t decided yet.
Can Kinvalis guarantee safety or detect emergencies?
No. We can’t guarantee anyone’s safety, and Kinvalis isn’t intended as a medical device or an emergency service. An update describes a likely pattern or an observed condition; it can’t confirm that someone is safe or well.
Kinvalis is meant to help you stay meaningfully informed, never to replace human attention, professional care or emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (112 in Germany and across the EU).
